INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR ACTION LEARNING - CANADA
The International
Foundation for Action Learning - Canada (IFALC) is one of a number of
international chapters of the International Foundation for Action Learning - UK
(IFALUK). IFALC was formed in 1995 and has since held numerous Action Learning
(AL) related public briefings and workshps featuring international authorities.
IFALC has also sponsored a number of successful National AL Conferences, and in
2001 hosted and organized the International Community of Action Learners (ICAL)
Conference. This conference was attended by AL practitioners from Canada, USA,
UK, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, and Germany.
IFALC supports and
develops the work of action learning on a national and international scale by
identifying and encouraging a network of enthusiasts. This network includes
managers, management developers, change agents, educators, students,
consultants and private individuals. Through Internet and face-to-face meetings
IFALC seeks to promote a global AL village where there is convenient
opportuntity to meet with and learn from others engaged in practicing AL as a
way to:
·
solve
problems and enhance performance
·
develop
a better understanding of the AL process
·
identify
ways to extend experience of AL
·
develop
skills as practitioners in AL
·
increase
understanding of the radical implications and benefits of AL for organizations
In 2003 IFALC expanded its
role from an information source to a service provider. In this new capacity
IFALC will now make available AL consultancy resources, AL groups
("Sets"), AL facilitator ("Set Advisor") certification
programmes, and AL-related research, as well as continuing to sponsor AL
workshops and conferences.
