JOIN AN ACTION LEARNING GROUP ("SET")
The International
Foundation for Action Learning - Canada (IFALC) invites you to organize or
join, with its help, an Action Learning (AL) group - called an AL Set. IFALC
helps to organize Sets of private individuals e.g. where one person may not
know of others who would like to participate in AL. IFALC also organizes
cross-organizational Sets comprised of representatives of different
enterprises, as well as in-house organizational Sets.
A Set is usually comprised
of 5 or 6 individuals who agree to meet on a regular basis to help one another
explore their problems and to take action to resolve them. Meetings are
facilitated by a Set Advisor until such time as the Set can function without
such help, and the Set's activities are held confidential by participants. As
necessary, IFALC will assist you in locating one or more Set Advisors. Further
details of the processes and benefits of AL are provided elsewhere on this site
(e.g. under "What Is Action Learning).
IFALC also has extensive
experience in organizing and running Internet- and Email-based Sets. This
know-how is based on IFALC's research into the ability of AL practitioners,
separated globally by time and place, to learn with and from one another.
Guidelines developed are now being applied in a number of international Sets.
If you think you or your
organization might seriously be interested in participating in any of the
above, and/or would like to know more, please contact IFALC.
