TLA'S LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS
|
The new millennium is teeming with complex business and social ambiguities compounded by powerful emerging technologies. Successful leadership at any level in an organization under these conditions demands a new dynamic leadership style that TLA has termed Adult Leadership. Development of Adult Leadership demands a fresh approach that is embodied in TLA's programs. Details of the underpinnings of Adult Leadership are provided in the accompanying article.
In addition TLA can design with clients formal and/or informal on-the-job initiatives such as Communities of Practice to assist personnel-transfer and embed these new skills. In collaboration with clients TLA can also design and implement an e-learning system tailored to provide virtual support for accelerating the development and adoption of new skills.
In summary, TLA's Adult Leadership programs are based on the
following principles:
§
Adult Leaders at senior levels strive to build remarkably collaborative and motivated organizations that demonstrate high alignment together with high autonomy and agility
§
Adult Leadership is developed through leading, for
real, in the individual's own business and social context with due
consideration given to defined leadership expectations, appropriate risk,
"stretch", and support
§
Adult Leadership entails commitment to an
action-learning process of continuous improvement starting with the individual’s current activities, challenges, and capabilities
TLA's Adult Leadership programs are
developed in concert with the client to ensure that on completion of a program
participants will be able to:
§
Spell out what Adult Leadership means in their
organizational and business context, and define its benefits
§
Clearly define what Adult Leadership role and
responsibilities are expected of them in their organization
§
Demonstrate Adult Leadership behaviours and
continuously improve performance through action learning
§
Accept that they must take personal responsibility for
their organization's leadership culture
